How Much Does Social Media Marketing Cost in India? (2026 Guide)
Quotes range from a few thousand rupees to over a lakh a month. Here is what the numbers mean, what drives them and how to compare quotes fairly.

Ask five agencies for a social media quote and you’ll get five very different numbers. That’s not always overcharging or undercharging. The price depends on what’s actually included. Here’s how to read it.
Typical monthly ranges in 2026
Published 2026 pricing guides from Indian agencies put social media management roughly in these bands (management fees, excluding ad spend and GST):
| Who | Typical monthly fee | Usually includes |
|---|---|---|
| Freelancer | ₹15,000 to ₹30,000 | One or two platforms, posts and basic design |
| Small agency, organic only | ₹20,000 to ₹40,000 | 1 to 2 platforms, content calendar, 12 to 16 posts, basic reporting |
| Growth package with Reels | ₹40,000 to ₹70,000 | 2 to 3 platforms, Reels, engagement, light paid social |
| Full service, organic + paid | ₹70,000 to ₹1,00,000+ | Multi-platform, high volume, ads strategy, dedicated team |
Ranges compiled from upGrowth and Digital Hangover 2026 pricing guides. Actual quotes vary by city, scope and team.

What drives the price
- Reels and video. Static posts are cheaper than Reels. Face Reels need shooting, editing and often a presenter.
- Photography and shoots. Original product or location shoots cost more than stock images, and perform far better.
- Number of platforms. Instagram only is simpler than Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn and YouTube.
- Volume. 8 posts a month is a different job from 20 posts and 8 Reels.
- Strategy and reporting. Monthly reviews, insights and planning take senior time.
- Extras. Google Business Profile, WhatsApp campaigns, ads management and influencer work.
Ad spend is separate
If a package includes Meta or Google ads, the fee is usually for managing the ads. The ad budget itself is paid to Meta or Google on top. Always ask which is which.
Don’t forget GST
Most registered agencies add 18% GST to their fee. Compare quotes on the same basis.
How to compare quotes fairly
- List deliverables side by side: posts, Reels, stories, shoots, platforms.
- Ask who shoots and who edits: in-house or outsourced?
- Ask for real results from similar clients, with insights screenshots, not just follower counts.
- Check the minimum term and notice period.
- Ask how success will be measured: reach, enquiries, footfall, orders.

Cheap vs right
The cheapest package often means stock images, generic captions and no strategy. The right package is the one tied to a business number you care about. For Laminates Valley, that number is the 20 to 25 new customers a month our work brings in.
